Lesser dynamics of Swiss Exports in July 2017
Swiss total exports in July 2017 as against July 2016 increased workday adjusted by 4.5 % to CHF 19.1 billion, but were less dynamic compared to the two previous months. Imports of CHF 15.5 billion were slightly less (-0.5 %). The trade surplus amounted to CHF 3.6 billion
Exports of textiles, clothing and footwear increased workday adjusted and in nominal terms by 26.9 % or plus CHF 75 million to CHF 340 million.
Imports of textiles, clothing and footwear amounted to CHF 858 million or a plus of CHF 71 million, and nominal + 9.0 % and real +0.4 %. Workday adjusted resulted a plus of CHF 70 million, in nominal terms +8.5 % and in real terms -0.1 %. Imports of apparel amounted to CHF 542 million, footwear was CHF 159 million and textiles CHF 156 million.
Textile machinery exports amounted to CHF 77 million or CHF 5 million less, meaning a nominal decrease of 5.8 % and in real terms -7.0 %. Workday adjusted resulted CHF 2 million less, in nominal terms -2.1 % and in real terms -3.6 %.
