Austrian Starlinger to launch new circular weaving at ITMA 2015

Following the launch of its six-shuttle circular loom FX 6.0, Starlinger & Co. Ges.m.b.H. of Weissenbach, Austria, will introduce the next stage of the FX series at the ITMA textile and garment machinery exhibition to be held in Milan, Italy (November 12-19, 2015) that is ongoing

Starlinger will also present its IC*STAR sack concept. This new sack type is manufactured by closing the sack bottom and/or the sack mouth by welding instead of by sewingStarlinger. IC*STAR sacks are produced on a Starlinger conversion line equipped with a module developed by Gleisdorf, Austria-based Statec Binder GmbH.

“The great advantage of this production technique is the significant material savings it entails,” Starlinger sales director Hermann Adrigan explains. “The greater strength of the sack bottom makes it feasible to work with lighter weight fabric, not to mention the elimination of the seam allowance required for sewing.” Both coated and uncoated IC*STAR sacks can be produced using the new process, which has the additional advantage of ensuring a tightly sealed sack bottom.

Starlinger is hosting an in-house exhibition before and after ITMA at its Weissenbach premises near Vienna. The latest models of all Starlinger equipment will be demonstrated Nov. 9-11 and Nov. 16-20. Starlinger will present its newest machine developments, including the FX circular loom models and the dynaFLEX flexo printing concept. Also the new starEX 1600 ES-TD tape extrusion line and the new generation of lamiTEC roll-to-roll coating line will be on display. Starlinger recycling lines will demonstrate the processing of raffia production waste into high quality regranulate.

Starlinger supplies machinery for woven-plastic bag production and PET recycling and refinement. Statec Binder specializes in packaging and palletizing machines for bulk goods for the petrochemical and chemical industry, animal feed production, agricultural businesses, foodstuffs, sugar and fertilizer industry.
