Renault will start taking pre-orders online for the new Austral from Thursday 30 June 2022 in five countries in Europe – France, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands.

Over 34000 interested buyers have already joined the “Austral Now” customer relations programme for the all-new Renault Austral, which launched in February. It offers a range of exclusive content through the programme’s own online platform and runs digital activation campaigns with subscribers through to the Austral’s release.

The all-new Austral was designed to comfortably accommodate the whole family, boasting a high-tech cockpit and a modern interior that is resolutely high quality, practical and spacious.

The OpenR screen is one of the largest in the automotive market, and combines the dashboard instrument display with the navigation and multimedia screen, which integrates the leading Google services and apps.

Fitted with the CMF-CD platform, the new Austral is adjustable and multi-purpose, featuring a split-folding rear seat that can also be individually adjusted along 16 cm rails to increase the luggage compartment capacity or the leg room for passengers in the back.

The all-new Austral inaugurates Renault’s third-generation four-wheel steering system, 4CONTROL Advanced. The only one of its kind in the C-SUV segment, the four-wheel drive chassis offers the manoeuvrability of a city car along with unparalleled stability.

E-TECH FULL HYBRID – the world’s top-performing hybrid engine

The all-new Austral introduces the second generation of the E-TECH Hybrid engine developed and patented by Renault. Packed full of advanced technology, the E-TECH Full Hybrid is equipped with a 1.2 L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with an electric motor on a 400V network for 160 or 200 hp. At 42%, the energy efficiency of the Austral makes it one of the top performers in the market. Its fuel efficiency, starting at 4.5 L/100 km1, is similar to that of the most cutting-edge diesel engines. Furthermore, the Austral generates very low levels of CO2 emissions (103 g of CO2/km1), while offering enhanced driving pleasure.

130 hp MILD HYBRID ADVANCED – a genuine alternative to diesel

The 130 hp Mild Hybrid Advanced engine combines the latest 1.2 L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V lithium-ion battery and starter motor that assists the petrol engine when it requires the most energy – starting and accelerating – to inject additional power while minimising fuel use “Best in class” starting at 5.2 L/100 km and 118 g CO2/km.

140 hp or 160 hp MILD HYBRID – tried and tested technology

The entry-level Mild Hybrid engine boasts either 140 hp or 160 hp and utilises a 1.3 L 4-cylinder turbocharged direct injection petrol engine that is already available on a selection of Renault vehicles. Developed in collaboration with Daimler, the engine is backed up by a starter motor and a 12V lithium-ion battery and offers mixed cycle fuel economy “Best in class” as low as 6 L/100 km, with emissions of 137 g CO2/km.
