WTO DG Okonjo-Iweala tells sustainability conference “trade is part of the solution to challenges we face”

With the objectives of supporting ongoing discussions and improving understanding of the practical aspects of COVID-19 vaccine research and development (R&D), manufacturing and distribution, the WTO Secretariat is organising a technical workshop on February 11, 2022.

Participants will benefit from presentations by experts working directly in these areas and representing different stakeholders. The programme will focus on vaccine R&D, technology transfer to enhance production capacity, sourcing vaccine inputs, the regulatory approval process, and distribution and uptake.

Government officials from WTO members and observers, based in Geneva and elsewhere, with responsibilities relating to the implementation and negotiation of trade, intellectual property and public health issues are invited to register for the Technical Workshop.

Registration for the workshop is available here.
