Premium Swiss increases from 2020 to 2021 have not influenced disposable income growth

The health insurance premium index (KVPI) has registered an increase of 0.2 % for premiums in 2021 compared with the previous year, reaching an index level of 195.3 points (basis 1999=100). The effects of the evolution of premiums on disposable income growth can be calculated by means of the KVPI. According to the Federal Statistical Office’s KVPI model calculation, the slight rise in premiums has not affected the growth of the average disposable income in 2021.
