EXPO 4.0: Trade Fair combination EXPO 4.0 impresses again

566 exhibitors from 28 countries showcased their products to around 13700 trade visitors from 41 countries and satisfaction with the high level of visitor quality

A successful EXPO 4.0 came to its conclusion February 24, 2018. Over three days, 566 exhibitors from 28 countries presented their products to around 13700 visitors from 41 countries. The exhibitors were delighted with a yet again increased number of purchase transactions and specific investment intentions. The EXPO 4.0 combined trade fair brings four trade shows under one roof: TV TecStyle Visions, WETEC, GiveADays and POS Masters. The four trade  fairs  brought  together  under  the  EXPO  4.0  umbrella  combine  their  expertise in textile decoration, promotional wear, professional clothing, advertising technology, digital printing and illuminated signage, digital design and technology at the point of sale, signage, advertising materials and marketing.

TV TecStyle Visions: More exhibitors, higher quality of visitors and increasing internationality:

TV TecStyle

Visions, Europe’s leading trade fair for textile decoration and promotion, continues to increase in importance within the industry in its 10th instalment as well. 270 exhibitors, 126 from abroad (2016: 256/101), presented their product innovations and new products in the areas of textile printing (screen printing, transfer printing, digital printing) embroidery, flock and laser technologies. With the expansion of the textile segment and the participation of almost all renowned international textile manufacturers, TV TecStyle Visions 2018 cemented its position as leading international trade fair for textile decoration and promotion. The share of international visitors is 20%, also significantly higher than the previous event (2016: 15 %). Visitors came from 41 countries (2016: 36) to Stuttgart. The majority travelled from Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Belgium. In terms of the visitors’ main areas of interest, in 2018, transfer printing (49 %), embroidery (48 %), and “textiles and printing substrates” (42 %) were in the lead, followed by textile silk‐screen printing and digital textile printing (40 % and 38 % respectively). 52 % of visitors think that the fair will continue to gain in importance. About one in three visitors stated that they were focused exclusively on obtaining information at TV TecStyle Visions and do not visit any other trade fairs worldwide. The results from the survey underline the unique selling point of TV TecStyle Visions. 79 % of visitors stated they would come back to attend TV 2020 and 87 % would recommend the trade fair to others. The quality of the trade visitors was also extremely positive: 93 % (2016: 89 %) of visitors are involved in purchasing and acquisitions for their company. 87 % of decision‐makers states that they will make investments, 94 % of those within the next twelve months. The comprehensive events program at TV TecStyle Visions was a huge success once again. The daily fashion shows, the technical special show, this time about “Screen printing on functional materials, the TVP Infopoint “fair●eco●bio”, the TV specialist forum and the presentation of the “Golden Shirt” award attracted interest from numerous visitors.

WETEC retains high level

The trade fair WETEC came to its end with an overall grade of 2.0 given by visitors.

With 151 international exhibitors from advertising technology, digital printing, illuminated signage and digital signage, WETEC built on its success in previous years. It also maintained its high levels of visitor quality. Which even increased somewhat: 91 % of are involved in purchasing and acquisitions for their company (2016: 89 %). 85 % of the decision makers came to WETEC with concrete plans to purchase or invest. 75 % of those are looking to make investments over the next 6 months. Marketing technology, digital printing, and wrapping were once again the top draws for visitors to attend this year’s WETEC in Stuttgart: 73 % came for marketing technology, 46 % wished to learn more about digital printing, and 29 % of visitors from the industry were interested in wrapping. The visitors thoroughly enjoyed the events program: Primary interests were in the lectures and workshops (28 %), the Print&Media awards (18 %) as well as the WRAPandSTYLE Event Arena. 44 % of visitors are convinced: WETEC will continue to grow in importance. 23 % do not visit any other conferences and use WETEC as their sole means of information on the industry. The number of visitors looking to return to Stuttgart in 2020 also grew (72 % compared with 62 % in 2016). Not only that, 79 % of visitors would recommend WETEC to others, proving that both the trade fair concept and the mix of visitors are compelling.

GiveADays impresses with the quality of the visitors

Successful third instalment of GiveADays: the visitors to the advertising specialty trade fair were highly satisfied with goods offered by our 128 exhibitors from eleven countries. The visitors graded the trade fair as a 2.1. Exhibitors were particularly pleased with the high quality of the trade visitors to the conference: 93 % of surveyed visitors are involved in purchasing and acquisitions for their company (2016: 94 %). Not only that, 89 % of the decision makers came to GiveADays in Stuttgart with concrete plans to purchase or invest. The majority (73 %) is planning on investing within the next 6 months. Visitors of GiveADays 2018 were particularly interested in sports and recreation articles (35 %), followed by office products (28%) and decorative items (21 %). 62 % of attendees indicated that they planned to return to the next GiveADays in two years. 74 % intend  to recommend the advertising article conference.

POS Masters: High visitor quality

The POS Masters trade fair shared the conference hall with the GiveADays trade fair for the second time. The 17 exhibitors at the POS Masters were very pleased with the quality of the visitors. 94 % (2016: 84 % of the visitors are involved in purchasing and acquisitions for their company, 83 % of the decision‐makers came to Stuttgart planning to purchase and/or invest (2016: 86 %). The share of those decision‐makers looking to invest over the next six years also grew (84 % compared with 72 % in 2016). The visiting experts were particularly interested in merchandising (42 %), visual merchandising (31 %), shop and store construction concepts as well as POS solutions made from metal/wood (19 %). The majority of visitors to the POS Masters 2018 worked in “Services” (62 %). 85% of visiting experts are planning to attend the trade fair for its next instalment (2016: 48 %).  The  share of visitors who would recommend this trade  fair,  also increased (81 % compared to 60 % in 2016).

In total, visitors were very happy with the exhibits on offer at EXPO 4.0. It is clear that the synergy between the four trade fairs has once again been a success in this, their fourth year.

The next edition of EXPO 4.0 will take place from the January 30 to the February 1, 2020 in Stuttgart, Germany.
