Just over a year after the launch of NAIA™ cellulosic yarn, Sofileta is writing a new page in its history with the development of an exclusive range of super-soft, fine knits with a glamorously glossy finish, on show at Première Vision, February 13-15, 2018.
The latest addition to the range of cellulosic yarns, Naia™, developed by US firm Eastman, caused a sensation at its launch in January 2017. Produced from wood pulp exclusively sourced from certified, sustainably-managed forests, Naia™ can be used to achieve fluid, breathable fabrics, that feel cool and soft against the skin, whatever the circumstances. They are practical, because they do nto crease, and are easy-care, being machine washable. Moreover, stains do not adhere, so even the most persistent (such as wine or coffee) can be easily laundered at home. The yarn has been given a top rating with Oeko-Tex product class I, meaning that it is suitable for even the most sensitive skins, making it an ideal component in lingerie and other next to skin applications. Naia™ is also naturally hypoallergenic.
For the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, Sofileta is marketing two new, finely-knit, super-soft fabrics containing Naia™, with a pretty, subtle pearly effect, fitting against the wearer’s body beautifully. A first for Sofileta, since this French manufacturer had never developed any cellulosic yarn collections before. Dominique Heuillard, Product Manager Knitted fabrics at Sofileta, enthused: “Naia™’s special features are of great interest in our markets, enhancing our natural knitwear offer.”
A fashion range with cosmetic properties available in a broad palette of colours
This new range comprises two soft knits: one with an extremely fine gauge, used to create a truly lightweight knit (105 g/sq.m), containing 90 % Naia™ and 10 % elastane that’s ideal for upmarket intimates. The second fine-gauge fabric (150 g/sq.m), is perfect for tops, T-shirts, and flowing dresses as well as lingerie. It contains 84 % Naia™ yarn and 16 % elastane. Both boast a very fluid hand and impeccable drape, with a beautifully pearly finish achieving a dainty sheen. They are truly beauty care products, caressing the skin like compact powder, and enhancing it with a subtly iridescent effect.
They are available in 16 colours, from the most natural of nudes through to brightly tonic hues, not forgetting darker shades.
This range will be exhibited at Première Vision on the Sofileta stand: N° 6H18 6J13.
