The Design Museum launches a curated virtual tour for its acclaimed exhibition, Sneakers Unboxed: Studio to Street.
Sports shoe, style statement and rare object, few design items are as universal as the sneaker. From shoes originally designed for specific athletic activities to their cultural resonance around the globe, discover how the sneakers has become the cultural symbol of our times.
The virtual experience invites viewers at home into the exhibition through a special guided tour by the curators, with the chance to meet some of the iconic collectors and the public figures included in the exhibition. Featuring archive footage from Run-DMC and Michael Jordan, who helped to make sneakers the cultural phenomenon we know today, alongside exclusive interviews from A-COLD-WALL* founder Samuel Ross and contemporary film content from Grace Ladoja.
