WIPO Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs

Declaration made under Article 17(3)(c) of the 1999 Act: Rwanda

  1. On March 26, 2021, the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) received from the Office of the Registrar General, Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the declaration as required under Article 17(3)(c) of the Geneva Act (1999) of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs, specifying that the maximum duration of protection provided for by the legislation of Rwanda in respect of industrial designs is 15 years.
  2. The 15-year maximum duration of protection applies to all international registrations designating Rwanda, including those whose international registration date is before the date of this Information Notice.
