INTICEDE’s holds presentation in Bangalore for Intimate Wear Brand of South India

INTICEDE BSD, India’s foremost intimate wear solution provider – from concept to store – successfully organized the 2nd edition of its Buyers Meet in Bangalore, India.

Where the first edition in Mumbai met with an overwhelming response, the recent meet in Bangalore superseded all the expectations, leaving the buyers asking for the show dates to be extended by a day. Originally scheduled to be held between December 19–20, 2017 at The Park Hotel, Bangalore, the meet was extended till December 21, 2017 to make sure that no leading brand from Southern India’s intimate apparel industry were left unattended.

Although the idea was to present raw materials and finished goods to product development team of Bangalore based brands, the meet had one brand attendee traveling all the way from Kochi, Kerala. The leading brands seen at the event were – Jockey, Arvind Brands, Enamor, Zivame, Lifestyle, Blossom, Lovable etc. amongst other upcoming brands as well.

The Show Dynamics

The brands attending the meet had a chance to witness the revolution in domain of raw materials and finished goods for intimate wear. The fabric samples displayed included polyamides, jacquards, stains, mesh, flock, screen and digitally printed fabrics. The trim lace and all over lace fabric collection presented at the meet made the designers go gaga as they made selections for their new range. A wide variety of bra cups, bra wires, metal and plastic accessories, hook and eye, silicone elastics and hangers sourced from across the globe.

Finished goods display consisted of basic to fashion lingerie, sleepwear, swimwear, men’s innerwear, shapewear and active wear. Most of the finished goods presented were handpicked as per the Indian Market requirements and consumer demands. The idea was to present finished goods that the brands in India have challenges in producing or sourcing locally due to lack of skills and technical know-how.

With enabling the brands to solely focus on marketing, INTICEDE BSD aims to take on the backend task, be it design, product developments, raw material developments, sourcing, bulk production, quality checks or logistics.

Being operational for just one year, the company has managed to carve a niche for itself in the Indian intimate wear industry. With a strong network of close to 500 factories across key sourcing destinations around the world such as Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Turkey and South America. Within a year, INTICEDE BSD crossed a turnover of INR 30 million with an office in India and Hong Kong. Going forward, the company shall soon be opening its office in Moscow as well.

Dedicated Attention

Each brand attending the meet was given a time slot ranging from 2-3 hours. This helped them have a look at the raw materials and finished goods without any disturbance whereas the team at INTICEDE was there to attend all their queries at leisure. An in-depth chat with the brands helped the team offer personalized solutions to their buying, sourcing and designing needs. It was indeed a matter of pride for INTICEDE to also welcome upcoming brands and intimate wear designers, offering them sourcing and designing solutions.

New Initiatives

INTICEDE BSD unveiled its two sub brands- FoamScoop and FlexiBand during the Bangalore meet. Where FoamScoop will mainly be focused on bracups and FlexiBand on elastics. INTICEDE has partnered with leading factories for BraCups and Elastics that would carry out various product developments under these two brand names.

Before launching FoamScoop, a specialized team of INTICEDE spent six months to understand the challenges faced by brands and manufactures with bra cup sourcing and available quality. The team accordingly worked on new developments with its factories in China. The developments were carried out in areas of different shapes, density and softness. The entire range of bra cups from FoamScoop come with an assurance of higher durability and anti-yellowing. Till date INTICEDE has already supplied close to 5 million pairs of Bra and Swimwear Cups in the Indian Market. Developments made by INTICEDE under both these brands were well appreciated by Jockey, Enamor, US Polo, Lifestyle and other visitors present during the meet.

Road Ahead

Besides offering turnkey solutions to brands in India with raw materials and finished goods, the team at INTICEDE BSD is also on a mission to strengthen the Prime Minister’s vision of “Make in India” by upgrading the domestic manufacturing units at par with requirements of international brands.

With a strong response generated from both these meets – the meet in Mumbai held in May 2017 and the recent one in Bangalore, INTICEDE BSD plans to organize similar meets in other key cities across India. The intimate wear brands from India have shown their support and going further, INTICEDE BSD shall be seamlessly connecting all the missing dots for the intimate wear brands in India and abroad.

“The best way to predict the future is to create it.” The name INTICEDE is derived from the term ‘intercede’, which means to represent or act on behalf of someone. Typically, that is what a buying and sourcing house does. The first half of the name pays homage to the intimate apparel industry, which INTICEDE aims to serve.

Formed in 2016, INTICEDE commands a rather nascent presence. That said, it has already added a number of firsts to its credit. It is the first buying, sourcing and design consultancy house for intimate apparel in India. It also is the country’s first ever provider of turnkey solutions and end-to-end requirements – idea to retail shelves. The cerebral strength behind the company surmised that there was an imminent need to provide intimate apparel sourcing in India, apt raw material and innovative design skills. This served as a precursor to consultation, discussions and finally the decision to create INTICEDE – buying and sourcing agents for intimate apparels brands in India and abroad.

While INTICEDE is intrinsically an Indian company, its aspirations don’t recognize any boundaries and borders. The company also provides key solutions for international intimate wear brands looking at sourcing raw materials or finished products from India.
