Textile Exchange releases First Draft of the Leather Impact Accelerator 1.0

Textile Exchange is pleased to announce the release of the first set of Leather Impact Accelerator (LIA) 1.0 draft documents and the launch of the program logo and webpages.

Previously known as the Responsible Leather program, the Leather Impact Accelerator (LIA) enables members of the leather value chain to work towards shared expectations in a coordinated way. It is not a standard; LIA aims to leverage and add value to the work that is already being done through the use of standards benchmarks. The components of the program also provide brands with leather supply chain mapping guidelines, a means to directly support farmers through Impact Incentives, and a framework for making credible claims.

Textile Exchange is looking for input on the draft LIA documents. Stakeholders may share their feedback through the feedback form during the 30-day consultation period, ending on June 5, 2020.
