“We are on schedule”, according to GARDEUR group’s temporary insolvency administrator Dr. Biner Bähr from White & Case. With that statement he is referring to his goal of having found an investor for GARDEUR by the beginning of December, which will not only guarantee long-term liquidity but also secure the company’s further future

He had already initiated the thorough search for potential investors on October 5th 2017, the very day the company filed for insolvency. After the international public announcement, 16 parties are now taking a look at the company. “Amongst those interested are a few who will surely follow through until the end of the process”, says Bähr. It is mostly strategic investors from the industry which are interested in the trouser specialist GARDEUR located in Moenchengladbach, Germany. “The high level of product quality is undisputed in the market”, says Gerhard Kränzle, CEO of GARDEUR GmbH.
“The current SPIEGEL outfit-study 9.0 certifies the brand GARDEUR an unbeatable value of loyalty: 99,3 % of customers already owning the product, would buy it again, and in some target groups this is even at 100 %. This data speaks for itself!”
“In the meantime, operational business continues as well as possible”, says Kränzle. After the confirmation of a debtor-in-possession credit, GARDEUR was able to release merchandise from its fall/winter collection that had already been produced, and to order raw materials to the value of a few million Euros for the spring/summer collection, which is supposed to be delivered from January onwards. In addition, the team is also working as usual on the fall/winter collection 2018/19.
The GARDEUR group had to declare the opening of insolvency proceedings with regard to four of its companies on October 5th, 2017 – GARDEUR GmbH, GARDEUR Service GmbH, GARDEUR Beteiligungs GmbH, as well as CDS Club Du Sport Bekleidung GmbH.

With Outfit 9.0 SPIEGEL-Verlag and manager magazin Verlagsgesellschaft present the largest German market-media study for clothing and watches for the ninth time. Outfit 9.0 delivers information on consumer behaviour and attitudes of those questioned towards clothing and fashion as well as awareness, ownership and disposition to buy for 91 fashion and 62 watch brands. The data was gained in an online survey of about 5,200 persons between June and July 2015. The results of Outfit 9.0 are representative for 44.31 million persons among the German resident population with internet access who are between 14 and 69 years of age.
