BASF gains momentum for worldwide registration of Revysol fungicide
BASF has reached the next milestone for its latest fungicide active ingredient Revysol®. The company has submitted the regulatory dossier for this strategic proprietary compound to registration authorities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Revysol is an innovative and highly effective fungicide active ingredient from the triazole chemical class and will strengthen BASF’s leading position in fungicides. The worldwide registration initiative will continue in key markets across Asia later this year

Revysol is an excellent example for our well-filled pipeline of innovations and fits perfectly with our successful fungicide portfolio. We are convinced that Revysol has all the potential to become the next blockbuster active ingredient after F500® and Xemium®.”
The company also announced that Revysol will be manufactured at its production facility in Hannibal, Missouri. “The decision to produce Revysol in Hannibal demonstrates also the strategic importance of this fungicide to North American markets. Our facilities in Hannibal offer the best possible conditions to quickly accommodate this latest innovation from BASF and to meet customer demands,” said Peter Michael Gress, Senior Vice President Global Operations, BASF Crop Protection.
“With Revysol we have developed an active ingredient with outstanding biological performance in a multitude of crops,” said Huff. “Our customers will benefit from a unique combination of fast action, long-lasting control and a favourable regulatory profile.” Beyond benefits for row and specialty crop growers, Revysol fungicide will also provide a new option for the turf management and seed treatment markets. In addition to the potential to maximize crop quality and yield in a sustainable way, the proprietary fungicide will play an important role in integrated pest management (IPM) programmes.
Revysol will be available in customized formulations to provide farmers worldwide with high-performing fungicide solutions. Pending regulatory approval, first market introductions are expected for 2019/2020 use season.
