Free webinar: Could forced labour cost your company access to the US market? (March 8, 2017)
Free webinar on March 8, 2017: The Innovation Forum is hosting on the recent changes in US law related to forced labour in supply chains, in particular the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015
The discussion-only webinar will look at the historical precedents of enforcement relating to forced labour in the US and the legal background that business practitioners should be aware of. From the Tariff Act of 1930 to the present day, what does the change in the consumptive demand clause by the Trade Enforcement and Trade Facilitation Act of 2015 mean, why is the change in law ground-breaking, how will enforcement be done by the mandated agencies and what are the broad implications for industries with forced labour risks?
The expert panel, who will help frame the discussion, consists of:
• Darian McBain, global director of sustainable development, Thai Union
• Kenneth Kennedy, senior policy advisor, forced labour programmes, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement
• Corey Norton, Trade Pacific Law
Introduced and moderated by Ian Welsh, publishing director, Innovation Forum
The webinar will take place on March 8, 2017 8.00-9.00 ET/13.00-14.00 GMT
