Free Webinar on Autonomous Vehicles – Cars but a lot more! (January 26, 2017)
This webinar shares some of the research carried out for the new IDTechEx report Autonomous Vehicles Land, Water, Air 2017-2037. The Webinar will be held by Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx on January 26, 2017
Uniquely, it looks at the big picture.
Autonomous vehicles navigate and perform tasks without human intervention at the time. Many are unmanned, from military to mining. The end game is autonomy of navigation, task and energy, so they never need fuel from outside – not even electric charging.
We show how this is most advanced in the air where billions are being spent on autonomous aircraft. We look at on-road vehicles where billions are also being invested in autonomy but explain why and when that market will saturate. The strong move to robotic agriculture and the many other applications of autonomy are discussed in the greater context.
• Needs for autonomy land, water and in the air leverage huge new associated markets.
• Degrees of autonomy and why it is best with electric drive leading to energy autonomy.
• On-road vehicle autonomy: Why it is the most challenging, who wants it/ does not want it and why global car sales will decline within 15 years anyway.
• Why BMW and IDTechEx see the hardware business of autonomy of on-road vehicles becoming commoditised but another large business results.
We will be holding exactly the same webinar twice in one day. Please register for whichever session is most convenient for you.
