First Circular Economy European Summit takes place at Smart City Expo World Congress
The first Circular Economy European Summit (CEES) will be held on 15-17 November in Barcelona, as an official event of Smart City Expo World Congress which brings together over 600 cities and companies
The city’s role in the circular economy – both as a space and as an actor – is a pivotal area of interest, and CEES explores how circular economy principles may be applied in urban contexts, generating value for communities.
In a programme that was co-created by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation team, 60 speakers including several of the Foundation’s Global Partners and Circular Economy 100 members, will be sharing their insights via talks, panels and discussion sessions during the three-day event. Among many schedule highlights is a dialogue on stage between Ellen MacArthur, the Deputy Mayor of Paris, and the Mayor of Medellin discussing the role of cities at the forefront of circular economy transition.
