Changes in top management at US Under Armour

Under Armour announced that Jason LaRose has been named President, North America. He will succeed Matthew C. Mirchin, who will transition to the role of Strategic Advisor, Global Revenue, effective October 1, 2016Jason La Rose

Mirchin has been with the Company since 2005, serving in a number of senior management Mathew C. Mirchinpositions in sales and marketing. LaRose joined Under Armour in 2013 to lead its Global E-Commerce business, eventually becoming Senior Vice President of Digital Revenue in 2015. Both executives have been key contributors to Under Armour’s global success and will continue to work together to deliver a best-in-class consumer experience and strong results across its sales channels. During this transition period, LaRose will continue to lead the E-Commerce business, while being actively involved in the search process to identify his successor.

Kimberly-Clark Chief Human Resources Office announces to retire at year end

Kimberly-Clark Corporation announced on September 15, 2016, that chief human resources officer Liz Gottung plans to retire at the end of 2016.  The company has named Scott Boston as Gottung’s successor.

Boston, who joined the company in 2011, has led global HR talent management and been responsible for leading HR within Kimberly-Clark International.  He will become senior vice president and chief human resources officer (CHRO) effective January 1, 2017 and will work with Liz to ensure a smooth transition.

During her 35-year career at Kimberly-Clark, Gottung held a wide range of leadership roles prior to being named CHRO in 2002.  As the leader of the company’s HR organization, she aligned the HR function with the company’s overall business strategy and championed the culture.  She also led the development of the company’s people strategy to support global talent and capability building.

“We are also fortunate to have someone of Scott’s experience and talent replace Liz. He is a proven, change-oriented HR leader who has demonstrated abilities across our businesses,” added Falk.

Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark, Boston was senior vice president, Human Resources, for McKesson Corporation.  He has more than 20 years of global HR leadership experience, including leading extensive HR transformations to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of global talent management functions, HR Shared Services and providing HR Business Partner support.

Scott Boston will be the new head at  HR at Kimberly ClarkBoston received a B.B.A. double major in Marketing and Management from Emory University.  He also earned an Executive MBA in International Business from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Syngenta appoints Jeff Rowe to new role of President Global Seeds and North America

Syngenta announced today the appointment of Jeff Rowe to the new role of President Global Seeds and North America. In this new role Jeff will be responsible for the global seeds strategy and execution, combined with the leadership of the North American business across seeds and crop protection.

Jeff brings over 20 years’ experience in the industry covering a broad array of roles of increasing seniority including regional commercial leadership, biotechnology and regulatory affairs, supply chain and global strategy. 

In addition, Jon Parr, currently COO, is appointed President Global Crop Protection and EAME, LATAM and APAC. Jon has an excellent track record of success in his 30 years in the agriculture industry, combined with a deep understanding of crop protection across all disciplines.

Nordstrom announces President of Nordstrom.com and strategic shifts in leadership responsibilities

To further accelerate its e-commerce, digital and mobile efforts, Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) announced that it has appointed Ken Worzel as president, Nordstrom.com

Ken WorzelWorzel has served as executive vice president of Strategy and Development at the company since 2010, where he has been responsible for strengthening the company’s competitive position and relevance through developing and executing customer-driven strategies to support the company’s growth. Prior to Nordstrom he worked as a consultant, including partnering with Nordstrom for 13 years while at Marakon Associates and McKinsey & Company.

“Through his six years as a leader at Nordstrom and many years prior to that working alongside our executive team, Ken has gained a deep understanding of how our e-commerce, digital and mobile efforts play an integral role in providing customers a differentiated experience through service, personalization and convenience,” said Erik Nordstrom, co-president of Nordstrom. “Ken comes into this position with expertise around Nordstrom.com’s current position and a strong vision for its future potential that will continue to bring the company a tremendous amount of value as we evolve our strategy and build on our success.”

Additionally, to better serve the changing needs of its customers and how they shop, the company also announced a strategic shift of leadership responsibilities to better support the Nordstrom (full-price) and Nordstrom Rack (off-price) brands across both stores and digital. New assignments include:

– Co-President Erik Nordstrom will now be responsible for the Nordstrom brand, including Nordstrom stores, Nordstrom.com, and Trunk Club as well as Customer Care, Marketing and Supply Chain.

– Co-President Blake Nordstrom will be responsible for the Nordstrom Rack brand, including Rack stores and NordstromRack.com/HauteLook and other corporate functions including Finance, Technology, Legal and HumanResources.

– Co-President Pete Nordstrom will continue to support all of the company’s merchandising functions and Store Planning. He will also remain closely involved in all areas impacting the Nordstrom brand,including marketing.
