Upcoming SALTEX serves as an interdisciplinary contact and network

The first time event SALTEX (October 5-6, 2016 in Dorbirn, Austria) attracts 56 exhibitors, a positive result for the start. Other hightlights are the Smart Textiles Symposium and a multifold framework programme

In five weeks (October 5-6, 2016) SALTEX – Smart Textiles & Lightweight Materials will open the doors at Messe Dornbirn, Austria. “With 56 exhibitors predominantly from Austria, Germany and Switzerland  SALTEX reached the planned goal”, declares project manager Katharin Schulz. A balanced mix of industrial companies, research institutes, technical associations and service providers along the value chain is promising to allow visitors a deep insight in the state-of-the-art innovation level of the sector.

The Smart Textiles Symposium of the Smart Textiles Platform Austria, seeing its fifth edition in Vorarlberg, Austria, SALTEX is concurrently taking place and will offer interesting themes and become a visitors’ attraction. The first day of the Symposium (October 5, 2016) is dedicated to intelligent textiles, whereas on the second day (October 6) composites and textile lightweight materials for the sectors architecture, automotive, and medical applications will be in the focus.

Registrations for the Symposium are to be made before September 30, 2016, on site there is no registration possible.

SALTEX is dedicated to serve as an interdisciplinary contact and network forum to initiate new co-operations and business transactions within the attractive economic region of Vorarlbert, thus practically right at the front door. With the exhibition and the symposium the framework is set to allow further possibilities for active networking.

The B2B cooperation exchange is another element. In the intervals of the Smart Textiles Symposium (with pre-notation) short individual meetings with presenters or other desired partners will take place. These will be organised by WISTO Wirtschafts-Standort Vorarlberg GmbH with the support of the Smart Textiles Platform Austtia and EEN The Enterprise Europe Network, as well with different cooperation partners. The national Cluster-Platform will organise an Austrian Cluster Conference on October 5 (12:30 to 5:00 P.M.).

“Global Megatrends and the role of Clusters”, a workshop on nanotechnology will be organised by the cooperation partner Verein nanoNet Austria and is scheduled for October 6 (10:30 AM – 2:30 PM). In addition five research institutes will present on a joint surface the latest research results, as well as prototypes and product ideas for Smart Textiles and Composites.

At SALTEX the autonomous concept car Etos by the Swiss Think Tank Rinspeed will be shown for the first time in Austria. In addition, on both days a visit of Wolford AG in Bregenz, Austria is possible. The transfer from the exhibition site is guaranteed. Since the space is limited, an early registration is necessary.
