Bangladesh is weaving the future of the textile sector
The relevance and strategic importance of Bangladesh for the textile sector has emerged as undeniable during the years
Located between South and Southeast Asia, it is a key gateway for global supply chains and production networks, with strong figures proving it to be the world’s second largest manufacturer of denim products – 26 denim producing factories on site, a total investment of over USD 834 million, a monthly production of 30 million yards per month: the growing international demand for denim fabric and for skilled yet competitive workforce finds an essential ally in the Bangladesh, to build up a bright future for textiles.
This productive effort in Bangladesh needs to be supported by a strong drive towards cultural improvement, contributing to the global quest for innovation and new trends. This is what moves the Bangladesh Denim Expo organization in pushing standards ahead, edition after edition.
For the upcoming show to be held on November 8-9, 2016, Bangladesh Denim Expo is indeed going to organize a number of workshops and seminars in Dhaka, with the aim of developing the skills of local denim designers, denim developers and denim enthusiasts, and to promote the Bangladeshi denim industry.
The workshops and seminars will cover a variety of topics including denim style and trend direction, denim fabric trends, evolutions in finishing and advances in sustainability and technical know-how to enable participants to gain first-hand experience in international trend forecasting, marketing and development.
Md. Mostafiz Uddin, CEO of Bangladesh Denim Expo, said: “One of the long term objectives of Bangladesh Denim Expo has always been to nurture local talents and help educate them. The purpose of organizing these workshops and seminars is to achieve this objective.”
Two seminars are scheduled two months prior to the 5th edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo. The participants in these seminars will be exhibitors and visitors of the Expo, while participation in the monthly workshop will be open to local denim professionals.
