Archroma Pakistan wins Employer of the Year and CEO of the Year’ Awards
Archroma, a leader in colour and specialty chemicals, today announced that its Pakistan affiliate has been named ‘Employer of the Year’ in the multinationals segment in a nationwide contest organized by the Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP)
EFP granted the award in recognition of Archroma’s best practices in human resource management, industrial relations in maintaining excellent relations with workers’ unions, providing employees with their legal rights as per applicable laws and regulations, observing labour standards, and encouraging workers’ participation in management. Archroma always strives to maintain the highest standards in occupational health and safety, to ensure the work environments are safe and congenial at all it sites. The award helps to underscore the company’s focused commitment on corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The efforts of Archroma Pakistan Limited in this area also earned its CEO, Mujtaba Rahim, the ‘Best CEO of the Year 2015’ award.
Speaking at the award ceremony held on August 2, 2016, and attended by corporate heads, government officials and ILO representatives, Rahim commented: “Archroma’s success is driven by our employees first and foremost. ASTM International recognises Jerry Beall of FiberTite® For Outstanding Service
As Chair of the Task Group on Ketone Ethylene Ester (KEE) based sheet roofing, Jerry contributed to the development of a test method for determination of KEE content in sheet membrane using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). “A great deal of research and development has gone into finding a test method to determine KEE content,” said Beall. “Turning that test method into a standard recognized by the ASTM remains a challenge.” The standard specification defines that the KEE polymer shall be a minimum of 50% by weight of the polymer content of the sheet. To date, FiberTite is the only roofing membrane that meets this standard.
Beall’s career in the roofing industry spans more than 40 years. He uses his field experience, studies and interest in leadership, product development, marketing and strategic visioning to support a nationwide team of sales, technical and manufacturing representatives. In addition to being Chair of the ASTM KEE Task Group, Beall is President of the Chemical Fabrics and Film Association (CFFA), and an active member of RCI. He holds three patents for his work in color extruded rib profile, an apparatus for welding a synthetic strip to a roofing membrane (rib), and WrapidFlash(TM) Molded Pipe Flashing.
