DuPont collaborates on Chinese Olympics uniforms

DuPont Industrial Biosciences has announced a collaboration with Chinese sports brand Anta in the design of uniforms for Chinese Olympic team members. The outfits use DuPont™ Sorona® renewable, plant-based fibre

Sorona polymer contains 37 % annually renewable plant-based ingredients by weight, the company says. It is used primarily in high-performance fibre applications, including textiles for apparel and home, office and automotive interiors, residential and commercial carpeting and automotive mats. It is a key ingredient in the Chinese team’s “Dragon Uniform” at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

Simultaneously, DuPont is marking the fifth year of OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification indicating that Sorona has been found to be free from harmful levels of more than 300 potentially dangerous substances. OEKO-TEX granted Sorona a Class 1 certification signifying that it meets the most stringent limit levels OEKO-TEX requires for products intended for use by infants and toddlers age 3 and younger.

ANTA Sports Products Ltd. designs, develops, manufactures and markets sportswear, including sports footwear, apparel and accessories.
