Renewable primary products, sustainable fabrics and PFC-free technologies by Schoeller Textiles

Sustainability is the central theme in the Swiss Schoeller 2018 Summer Collection, developed and produced amid the Swiss mountains. Organic cotton, mulesing-free wool, upcycled products with ECONYL® yarn or PFC-free bio-technologies based on renewable primary products are just some of the ecological highlights. A monochrome, perfectly combinable palette of colors in natural earth and water shades underlines this statement and the multifunctional textiles make a convincing impact both for sport and in the city

Summer 2018 is dominated by monochrome palettes of color with an urban touch in powdery shades and earthy gray-blue and gray-green variations. Various high-tech textiles differ in surface and structure while still offering similar functions and can be perfectly combined with one another as pants, jackets or inserts. For example, the highly-elastic schoeller® dryskin melange fabric with ribbed structure or a blurred effect which ideally matches the related plain schoeller® dryskin fabrics in indigo or stone gray. They all offer good abrasion resistance and ideal moisture management thanks to the microfiber on the inner side. They are also finished with the new PFC-free ecorepel®  Bio technology based on renewable primary products.

Organic and Muelesing free

Photo 2Sustainability continues to be a major focus throughout the Schoeller Collection, with all fabrics being sustainably produced in Switzerland on the most modern machinery. The schoeller®-naturetec summer versions are also equipped with environmentally friendly, water-repelling ecorepel® Bio technology and feature either organic cotton or mulesing-free Merino wool from Tasmania on the inside.

Exciting combinations result from the ribbed textiles with a more technical look and excellent abrasion resistance and strength: whether as a light schoeller® dynamic with ecorepel® Bio in beige, earthy brown or vibrant red or as two-layer or three-layer schoeller®-WB formulas with the active c_changeTM climate membrane for reliable protection from wind and weather.

Regenerated Econyl® yarn

Genuine upcycled products are the one manufactured by Schoeller with ECONYL® yarn coming from regenerated waste material. The ECONYL®Photo 3 Reclaiming Program reduces the world wide quantity of waste by collecting regenerable material from waste disposal sites and the oceans and reintroducing it into the production cycle. The resulting yarn by no means differ in quality and performances from conventional textiles. The light schoeller®-WB-400 soft-shells with recycled jersey or mulesing-free wool backing, and the schoeller®-WB-formulas with climate regulating c_changeTM membrane in classic shades such as olive, navy, red, off-white or black, are just as brilliant, soft and functional as the other Schoeller textiles. Further ultra-light and super comfortable schoeller®-dryskin and schoeller®-dynamic summer qualities with ecorepel® Bio complete the range.

Photo 4Local wool insulation

The Local Wool soft-shells with wool interior from Schoeller are cozy, voluminous, soft and warming. This naturally high-tech insulation provides a completely new soft-shell look and is an exciting alternative to conventional down. The combination of a light insulation fleece made of wool with a special layered construction is groundbreaking. The washable wool from Europe is sustainably produced and therefore mulesing-free. For the Local Wool schoeller®-WB-400 with or without membrane, the shape-retaining yet elastic wool fleece is combined with an elastic polyamide exterior side and a pleasantly soft inner lining. The breathable soft-shells in earthy shades or sophisticated black can be worked on conventional sewing machines.

Cozy and reflective prints Photo 5

While checks still have a firm place in the summer 2018 shirt collection, they are augmented with a casual denim print in various colours. Further print designs, each available in a range of colour combinations, look just as good used in a shirt for mountain sports as in one for an after-work drink. The pleasantly-soft, light e2-polyester qualities with antibacterial freshness finish are available to match in a range of plain colours or with a melange effect. A highlight with a safety aspect is displayed by various woven and knitted fabrics with reflective printing. The concealed technology creates new, surprising looks, whether on soft-shells, high-class wool fabrics, functional knitted fabrics or semi-transparent lightweights, allowing the wearer to remain visible at twilight without having to forgo the comfort of elasticity and breathability.

Exciting structures or smooth, clean surfaces draw visual interest with the pleasantly soft, light, bonded schoeller®-WB-400 soft-shells for spring and autumn. They are warming, breathable and extremely hard-wearing as well as water and dirt repelling – whether as microstructure on an elegant e3 jacket quality or as a sky-blue, urban-inspired schoeller®-WB-400 lightweight with colour-contrasting reverse.
