The Floating Piers and Groz-Beckert needles are helping to Build Bridges
The wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin, of the Pont Neuf in Paris, and the Valley Curtain in the Rocky Mountains are just a few of the many projects that have brought the artist Christo to public notice worldwide.
The artist is currently working on a further large-scale “Art in Nature” project. At the Lake D’Iseo in Italy, from June 13 to July 3, 2016, the plan is to build a walk-along pier three kilometres in length, consisting, among other elements, of 70,000 square meters of a technical needle punched nonwoven.
As a partner for his project, Christo chose the nonwovens manufacturer Altex, based in Gronau, which already established itself as a trustworthy and reliable partner with the fabric that was used for wrapping the Reichstag.
Just as trustworthy and reliable are products from the company Groz-Beckert, which are supporting Altex in this massive undertaking.
