Finnish Reima launches new clothing concept with movement sensor and mobile app
Reima, Finnish children’s outerwear brand, has developed a new clothing concept that includes wearable movement sensors and a mobile app
ReimaGo-innovation is a combination of functional outerwear, a wearable movement sensor and free mobile app, designed to attract kids and motivate them to move.
The movement sensor has been developed in cooperation with the Finnish sports technology brand Suunto. The ReimaGO sensor has been especially designed for kids using Suunto’s Movesense technology. The sensor doesn’t monitor children’s heart rate or calories – it measures the intensity and duration of children’s physical activity during the day.
The activity data recorded by the sensor is read into the ReimaGO application. The app‘s gameplay lets children see their progress and gather rewards for activity. In addition, parents have their own view of the app where they can easily follow children’s activity levels, as well as set individual goals and rewards.
The ReimaGo products with the waterproof sensor that also works in extremely cold weather will be available to consumers in autumn 2016.
