Cytec opens new Application Centre
Cytec Industries Inc. (CYT) announces the opening of its new Application Centre in Heanor, UK, adjacent to its existing manufacturing and R&D sites. This opening is a key milestone for Cytec in its strategy to develop new composite products and technologies to serve the high volume production markets such as Automotive. This investment of USD 13 Million also demonstrates our commitment to the industrial markets and our long term vision for the adoption of composites by the serial automotive industry

Cytec has developed new materials such as rapid cure thermoset prepregs and HP-RTM resin systems and is now working with partners and customers to develop application technologies to enable the refinement of these new materials and their use for part manufacture, demonstrating to our customers how our materials can be used in a high volume production setting.

The new centre capability ranges from press moulding and injection equipment, to robotics for automated pick and place, material formatting, trimming as well as recycling and 3D printing capabilities. We are excited about the opportunity to invite our customers to work jointly with us in this new centre.
