Some figures on Austrian textiles and clothing
At the 6th Annual Conference of the Austrian Association of the Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather Industry in Salzburg, Manfred Kern, Chairman, revealed some figures its member companies
286 textile companies were registered in mid-2015, with approximately 12150 employees. Their turnover amounted to around EUR 1.25 billion. Exports in the first half of 2015 amounted to EUR 1.2 billion (+4.7 %) with imports at EUR 1.7 billion (+3 %).
The Austrian clothing industry comprises of 131 companies with 7000 employees, and a turnover of EUR 489 million.
