Swiss textile and textile machinery exports declined in August 2015

There were less textile machines exported in August 2015 (-17.9 %) and also the export demand for textiles, clothing and footwear declined slightly but in real terms increased by 5.6 %

In August 2015 textile machinery was exported in the value of CHF 77 million (-17.9 %), and for the period of January to August the total value amounted to CHF 726 million or 13.3 % less than in the same period of 2014.

The export value of textiles, clothing and footwear reached in August CHF 213 million and from January to August 2015 CHF 2056 million (-1.8 %). Clothing and footwear imports amounted in August to C HF 620 million (-3.0 %), and from January to August 2015 to CH 4419 million (-0.6 %).

The total Swiss exports in August showed a value of CHF 14232 (-2.1 %) and the imports totalled CHF 11363 million (7.4 %), and from January to August 2015 these amounted to CHF 108424 million. All figures are based upon the report of Swiss Customs authority.
