IAF World Fashion Convention with new speakers and discussion sessions

The start of the 31st World Fashion Convention and the 8th Istanbul Fashion Conference is getting closer. On October 13 – 15, key players from the apparel industry will gather in beautiful Istanbul to talk about the current state of the fashion industry

The Convention location, the Hilton Bosphorus Istanbul, ensures a grand setting for the Convention. With visitors from typically over 20 countries, Istanbul will be the place where the global fashion industry meets.

The conference day on coming October 14, it is rapidly filling up with top speakers. Announced earlier Christoph Auhagen, CBO of Hugo Boss will be a keynote speaker. Next to that other great names lined up like Gordon Richardson, the creative director of Topman, Jan Hilger, COO of Ahlers (Pierre Cardin, Baldessarini), Leyla Ertur, Country Manager Production, Europe Region of H&M and Murat Akkun, CSR Country Manager of Inditex.

The October 15 offers a matchmaking program connecting delegates to the Turkish garment industry and specialized workshops. During the IAF General Assembly we are organizing a unique discussion session on the future of the industry. This session will be initiated by World Bank’s lead specialist Emiliano Duch, who was also a keynote speaker at last year’s Convention held in Medellín, Colombia. Industry Association Executives and Board Members from major associations from five continents will be on the panel. World Bank is collaborating with the IAF on forming a clearer picture of what are the most successful strategies and policies to create a stronger fashion industry globally. Hearing the visions from industry leaders from five continents will be a fascinating experience.
