The Outdoor Market 2014
EOG, the European Outdoor Group recently released the key findings from the latest phase of its ongoing State of Trade market research programme, and the results for 2014 are encouraging. Top line sell-in figures for last year show that our sector grew by 1.2 % in value and 1.4 % in volume, with an overall value of EUR 4.83 billion, equating to an estimated EUR 10.2 billion at retail
This growth was achieved despite circumstances in Russia, where the market reduced by 20.2 %. Excluding Russia, the European market grew by 2.7 % in value and 2.3 % in volume, at about the rate of inflation, which is good news given how tough the competition for consumer spending is.
