FTA between Switzerland and China will be in force as of July 1, 2014
Both countries, Switzerland and China, have completed the ratification of FTA, the Free Trade Agreement, thus paving the way that it will enter into force as of July 1, 2014. The negotiations were concluded on July 6, 2013

The FTA improves mutual access to markets for goods and services. It will strengthen legal certainty with regard to protecting intellectual property and bilateral economic exchanges in general. The agreement will also remove custom duties in most areas of bilateral trade, either in full, or in part; transitional periods will apply in some cases. The bilateral agreement on labour and employment matters, which was concluded at the same time as the FTA will enter into force on June 9, 2014.
