Italian AQUALAB recognised by ITMF’s Committee on Cotton Testing Methods

ITMF’S International Committee on Cotton Testing Methods (ICCTM) met at the occasion of the 32nd International Bremen Cotton Conference on March 18, 2014 and fully recognised a fibre testing instrument produced by Mesdan S.p.A. (I), marketed under the name of Aqualab

Mesdan Aqualab is an instrument to measure the moisture content and moisture regain of fibre. The moisture measurement is achieved through an innovative microwave low power resonance technology, relatively fast and easy to apply.

Rapid measurement of moisture content and regain is useful in ever stage in the cotton value chain in order to optimise yarn and fabric production, and to accurately determine value.

Recognition is conferred on testing instruments and methods that are in ICCTM’s judgement beneficial for the cotton value added chain. Key criteria for recognition of an instrument are the performance of the test method, implying the measurement of new cotton characteristics, better resolution/less uncertainty/less influences to existing methods or direct user benefit, such a reduced operating time without reducing the resolutions.
