The Nominees for the Index 2014 Awards Recognising

At INDEXTM 2014 in Geneva (CH) the Index 2014 Awards Recognising will be bestowed on April 8, 2014, the opening day of the exhibition

The awards are the highest accolade for the best examples of excellence in the nonwovens’ sector and related industries.

The jury – compose of an official from the EU Commission, a former senior nonwovens company business development and marketing manager, a representative of the nonwovens industry trade press, and top academic nonwovens R&D experts met in February to select the nominees, and to chose from this group, the winner in each of the seven awards categories – has chosen the following nominees in the following categories: Nonwoven Roll Goods Ahlstrom – CaptimaxTM, Mc Airlaid Vliesstoffe – McAirlaid’s FruitPads, Sandler – Fibercomfort® tread and waterproof roof insulation.

In the category finished products made from, or incorporating nonwovens: Imeco – Nocemi®-MED; Wellman International – FIBALON®.

In Achievement for the most original marketing campaign for a product made from, or incorporating nonwovens: Lenzing – TENCEL® Skin; Sandler – Redesigned Sandler website; Suominen Corporation – Welovewipes social media and internet platform.

In Innovation in a raw material (e.g. fibre, binder), of special relevance to the nonwovens industry: CHT Beitlich – Tubiguard® RT-F, Eastman – Eastman CyphrexTM microfibers.

In Innovation in machinery of a special relevance to the nonwovens industry: Hermann Ultraschall – HELIBOND – core former; ITW Dynatec – Verctor Surge; Reifenhauser Reicofil – Humidifiers Spray off film device; Trützschler – Wet laying and Spunlacing.

In Sustainable Product: Ahlstrom – Ahlstrom Flow2SaveTM; De Saedeleir – Biograded + 200 % Biodegradable + 100 % Compostable weed erosion control Mat; P&G – Pampers® baby wipes; SCA – Tena Lady Pads Plus with InstalDRYTM.

In Sustainable process or management practice: Glatfelter Gernsbach – ABACA; Hermann Ultraschall – Boco Sonic Disposable Articles; T. J. Beall Company – True Cotton

The final winners will be presented with their specially commissioned bronze sculpture and a diploma the Awards Ceremony in Geneva on April 8, 2014. At the four day exposition over 13000 technical visitors are expected.
