Swiss EMS Group reports strong growth in Asia in 2013
EMS Group, active in High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals and with its companies combined in EMS-CHEMIE Holding, increased net sales in 2013 by 7.4 % to CHF 1885 million (CHF 1755 million), in local currency +8.7 %, and a net operating income EBIT by 15.4 % to CHF 369 million (CHF 320 million)
Sales growth was deriving from all geographical regions, but particularly from Asia, namely China.
Operational cash flow increased from CHF 374 million to CHF 424 million (+13.4 %). EBIT margin was up from 18.2 % to 19.6 %, the EBITDA margin showed an increase from 21.3 % to 22.5 %. The growth rats were mainly achieved with high margin specialty products in the main area of High Performance Polymers. Net income was up from CHF 274 million to CHF 379 million. The investments totalled CHF 57 million (CHF 44 million). The company had at the end of 2013 2670 associates (2371).
The outlook is esteemed with higher sales above 2013 and an EBIT to increase slightly over-proportionately
