New members of the H&M board of directors

At the occasion of the Annual General Meeting on April 29, 2014, the election committee of H&M proposes two new members of the board and some re-elections

As new members are nominated Lena Partiksson Keller and Niklas Zennström. Up for re-election are  Andres Dahlvig, Lottie Knutson, Sussi Kvart, Stefan Persson, Melker Schörling and Christian Sievert. Not for re-election stands Bo  Lundquist and Mia Brunell-Livfors has asked to be relieved of her of her board position as of January 2014, because she is to take up a position on the board of a company in the same industry. Stefan Persson is to be re-elected as Chairman of the Board.

Lenna Patriksson Keller (44) has been working in the fashion industry for over 20 years, both from an international and a local perspective, focusing on branding and communication, but also in buying, distribution and product range. She is the founder and owner of Patriksson Communication, where she is now serving as Executive Chairman. She was previously part-owner of Whyred and has worked at J. Lindeberg AB and H&M. Her other board assignments are WESC and NSP Nordic Service partners, chairman of the Board of ASFB, the industry organisation Association of Swedish Fashion brands. Education: Design and Marketing at Parsons School of Design in New York and at the American University in London. She owns personally 700 shares in H&M, and related parties’ holdings amount to 9450 shares.

Niklas Zennström (47) has co-founded companies, including venture capital company Atomico, IP telephony company Skype, file sharing service Kazaa and internet video service Joost. Along with his wife, he established Zennström Philanthropies supporting organisations particularly associated with climate change, social entrepreneurship, the Baltic Sea environment and human rights. He started his career at Tele2, was later CEO of He is currently CEO of Atomico, which focuses on fast growing tech companies. He is a member of the board of Rovio. His education: dual degrees, Business Administration and Engineering Physics, from Uppsala University. He does not own any H&M shares.

At November’s Board Meeting, Textile Exchange elected the new Executive Committee with members

The new members are Elayne Masterson, Escquel Group, she will chair the Executive Committee, Tricia Carey, Lenzing, Vice Chair, Ryan Tompson, Patagonia, Treasurer, Jerry Wheeler, Ecocentric,  Secretary and Marci Zaroff, President Portico Brands, Founder of Under the Canopy, as Member at large.


The new Textile Exchange Executive Committee with members

The members of IMFC, the international Monetary and Financial Committee of IMF HAVE ASKED Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore and Minister for Finance, to extend his term as Chairman of the Committee by one year upon the conclusion of his term on March 22, 2014. He serves as chairman for a term of up to three years and he has accepted the extension.

THE IMFC, comprising finance ministers and central bank governors, is the IMF’s policy advisory committee. It deliberates on the principal policy issues facing the IMF and the international monetary and financial system. The committee entails 24 members, reflecting the composition of the IMF Executive Board. Each member country that appoints, and each group of countries that elects, an Executive Director, appoints a member of the Committee, this is meeting twice a year, in spring and at the time of the IMF – World Bank Annual Meetings in autumn.


Four candidatures for post of WIPO Director General

Three are four candidatures submitted for the post of Director General of wipo World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva (CH).

The candidates are Francis Gurry (AUS), Geoffrey Onyeama (Nigeria), Jüri Seilenthal (Estonia), and Alfredo Suescum (Panama).

The WIPO Coordination Cimmit5tee, which is composed of 83 member states, will meet on March 6 and 7, 2014 to nominate a candidate for appointment to this position by the WIPO General Assembly, which is scheduled on May 8 – 9, 2014.
