Swiss Uster acquires Swiss Jossi Systems
Swiss Uster Technologies (quality measurement and certification for the textile industry) has acquired all shares of Jossi Systems AG, including intellectual property of the company as well as its personnel, from Jossi Holding AG. Uster is to complement and strengthen its position as the world leader in yarn quality management, however there was no price disclosure on the deal
Swiss Jossi Systems, based in Waengi, is a market leader and producer of systems for cleaning cotton and removing contamination material from cotton at the first stages of production in the spinning mill.
Dr. Geoffrey Scott, CEO of Uster Technologies underlined: “Jossi is a long standing company in the area of cotton clean8ing and contamination removal. That company has a good reputation as a quality supplier and their products fit perfectly with USTER by complementing its existing product range. The problem of removing disturbing foreign mater from cotton is one of the major challenges faced by any quality minded spinning mill. The combination of Jossi’s products with the USTER® QUANTUM 3 yarn clearer, and the profound knowledge existing in the two companies, allows USTER that i can now offer a complete solution to the customers to tackle this challenge”.
The acquisition offers to customers the advantage of a one-stop shop for tackling all the major challenges of yarn quality management, testing and certification, and by optimising their product quality, to control costs and improve profitability. Through Uster Technologies’ distribution channels it is planned to increase sales of Jossi products.
Jossi Group (Holding) is headquartered in Islikon (CH). The group is engaged in engineering and manufacturing precision components and devices for various industries, predominantly for medical and laboratory applications. After the sale of Jossi Systems Ltd., the group entails two companies with a combined workforce of 135 employees and apprentices.
