Record automobile sales in the U.S.A.

The critical numbers for the automotive industry and the American economy reveal new record sales in the third quarter of 2013, namely 76743  + 13 % and in September 20758 were sold, however these are the figures only from AutoNation, Inc., America’s largest automotive retailer, but they are reflecting the general trends in the US vehicle market

Same store retail new vehicle unit sales, as reported to the applicable automotive manufacturers, increased 8 % compared to the third quarter of 2012.

AutoNation’s segments in the third quarter of 2013 and total sales of 76743 were as follows: 23782 for domestic brands (+17 %), 39092 were imported brands (+9 %) and 13869 were Premium Luxury cars (+19 %). The September breakdown is 6524 domestic brands (-5 %), 9853 imported cars (-17 %) and 4381 premium Luxury cars (+3 %) as compared to September of 2012.
