American Abercrombie & Fitch is in focus of the anti-discrimination agency
Have you ever visited an Abercrombie & Fitch store? If so, you will have witnessed that its store personnel is very attractive, good looking and in style
This is exactly the point for the American anti-discrimination agency to act, because it finds that the selection of particularly good looking sales personnel discriminatory. The attribute of bizarre hiring methods has been put as a label by the authority and to scrutinise these hiring selection process. Sometimes the male selling personnel is serving on customers also with a naked upper body part.
The company’s CEO Mike Jeffries stated in the past that beautiful people would be hired because they would invite other beautiful people into the store. Abercrombie & Fitch does not speak of vendors but rather of models and its legal advisor declares “models work in addition as sales persons”. With models it is obvious and legal that they have to have pleasant and good looking features, but with sales personnel the legal aspects are not defined.
Is it a lot of fuss about nothing?
