OEKO-TEX Sustainability Innovation Award for Lenzing
OEKO-TEX® has presented at a special gala its first Sustainability Award in the category product innovation to Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing. The announcement reached Lenzing exactly at its 75th anniversary.
The seven person jury, comprising of representatives of the OEKO-TEX® community, NGOs, industry and research institutions, associations and the trade press lauded: “Lenzing AG is a model example of how to achieve and expand global leadership in innovation and technology through a consistent focus on innovation and close cooperation with research institutes and universities”.
Andreas Dorner, global head for textile marketing at Lenzing, and Wolfgang Plasser, General Manager and Vice President Nonwoven Fibres, accepted the prize on behalf of the company, and Dorner stated: “This award is of particular value, not least because the OEKO-TEX® community has a detailed insight into what is happening in the industry, and can accurately assess which companies deserve the awards, thanks to long and intensive cooperation with some 10000 companies”.
