Swiss textiles, shoes and textile machinery in the first five months 2013
The exports of textile machinery amounted in May to CHF 97 million (real + 11.1 %, nominal + 8.5. %), and textiles, clothing and shoes CHF 268 million (real -0 .9 %, nominal -0.2 %)
From January to May 201 textile machinery exports amounted to CHF 450 million (real +12.8 %, nominal +5.7 %), whereas exports of textiles, clothing and footwear amounted to CHF 1315 million (real -2.5 % and nominal stagnating). The import of clothing and shoes in May settled at CHF 415 (real -2.8 %, nominal +0.4 %) and for the first five months of 2013 to CHF 2707 million (real -2.1 %, nominal +2.0 %).
The Swiss total exports dropped by one percent and imports added one percent, however the trade plus amounted to CHF 2.2 billion due to pharmaceuticals and watch exports. These figures were published by Swiss custom’s authority.
