Vera Wang’s dress code for her employees
The designer for dramatic bridal and red carpet gowns, Vera Wang has recently become the winner o0f the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s lifetime achievement award
In her company she wears day-to-day clothes, often in a neutral tone, with an occasional masculine edge. Her employees are expected to dress professionally, according to their department’s needs, reports the Wall Street Journal and cites for Erica Arkin, senior vice president of bridal, that this means an all Vera wardrobe and no jeans. Priya Shukla, vice president of public relations states: “Vera certainly broadened my horizons fashion wise, I have learned a lot about avant-garde designers that I never thought I could wear, like Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe”. Lyle Maltz, licensing vice president regrets only one thing: The company doesn’t yet offer menswear. For now it’s just tuxedos”.
Vera Wang is very decided and states:”A bit of colour in our environment can be distracting, because we are looking at so much, it is sensory overload!”
