AATC Design Competition winners announced

AATCC the American Association of Textile Colourists and Chemists announced the winners of the 2013 AATCC Concept 2 Consumer® Design Competition for students

The theme “Ooh La Leggings!”! Students needed to design coordinating skirt and leggings sets for a 16 to 24 year old female. Colour palettes could be chosen from the Pantone View Colour Planner Summer 2013 …Unity & CO.

The jury consisting of Amy Cornwell, Technical Designer-Leggings Kayser-Roth Corporation, Bebe Purcell, Product Development at VF Corporation-Jeanswear, Dan St. Louis, Director at The Manufacturing Solutions Centre at CVCC, Emily Coleman, Designer/Merchandise Manager at Jeffries Socks, Heidi Noggle, Technical Designer, Keith Davis, Director of Product Development at Renfro Corporation and Sally Kay, President & CEO at the Hosiery Association bestowed Ashley Meek, Kansas State University and its work “Lucky London” with the first price (USD 1000 and a copy of Pantone’s Cotton Passport) and Lindsay Ley, University of Wisconsin with the second rank for “Folklore” (USD 750 + Pantone’s Cotton Passport).

Honourable mentions (USD 100) received So-Young Jung, Central Michigan University for “Friends” and Cheryl Yacenda, Kansas State University for “Crazy in the 80s”.
