Fritz P. Mayer is soon retiring – new CEO announced

Well known and longstanding managing Partner of German Karl Mayer Holding Company, Fritz P. Mayer, will retire as of June 30, 2013, but he will continue to represent the Mayer family on the company’s Board together with Suzanne Forker. On July 1, 2013 the newly named CEO will take the helm




The newly elected CEO, Arno Gärtner, joined the Management Board of Karl Mayer Holding on March 1, 2013. Upon the retirement of Fritz P. Mayer, Arno Gärtner will become spokesperson for the Management Board and Dr. Helmut Pressl will be to his side as CFO Chief Financial Officer.

The new CEO has been for many years member of Karl Mayer’s management team. Arno Gärtner is a graduate mechanical engineer and started his career in the printing machinery manufacture. After joining Karl Mayer he acted as manager of the “Lace and Curtain” division, then he became jointly responsible for the enhancement of the Chinese subsidiary, Karl Mayer (China) Ltd. and he was named president of the Business Unit Warp Knitting.  As mentioned before, the so far family run company will have two family members on the Board of Directors. Karl Mayer companies and the new CEO will pursue its role as a leader on the world market and underline its reputation as an innovative manufacturer on a solid financial and commercial basis.

Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik, Obertshausen near Frankfurt, has been founded in 1937, and is, according to in-house information, today a global leader in the production of warp knitting and raschel machines, as well as in warp preparation. The group employs more than 2000 employees worldwide and it has subsidiaries in the USA, Great Britain, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan, China and Switzerland. The fields of activities are Warp Knitting, Warp Preparation and Technical Textiles, as well as Parts and Components, the later are catering to Karl Mayer machines as well as to third parties.
