Clariant to extend its pigment preparation in Indonesia

Swiss Clariant (Specialty Chemicals) is to build a new pigment preparations plant in Indonesia to support customers in China, India and Indonesia with high quality low VOC pigment preparations

The investments include the construction of the plant at Clariant’s Tangerang site in Indonesa and by doubling the capacity to support the strong domestic market growth. The Company is also finalising the feasibility study for expanding the capacity at its Azo pigments and pigment preparation plants in Roha, India by 50 %, thus in order to increase market coverage, provide more intimate customer service and support and to enhance market knowledge Clariant’s  marketing and sales organisation in China, India and Indonesia will be doubled during 2013.

Additionally, technical service capabilities in China will also be strengthened by almost doubling the number of technical professionals at Clariant’s STAR application laboratory in Shanghai. Also the development capabilities in Roha (IND), Shanghai and DaGang (both PRC) will be expanded in order to provide a faster response to requests for product development tailored to the needs of the local markets. The addition of Regional Product Managers for both Azo pigments and pigment preparations are foreseen. Further announcements regarding additional plans for the region can be expected soon.
