Finnish Marimekko expands in China
Finnish creative design house Marimekko is expanding its business activities in Asia by opening three new stores in China
The first two stores in China are to open during upcoming summer and will locate in Beijing and Shanghai. The first stores in Beijing will be located in Sanlitun Village in the Choyang district and the Shanghai store in the brand new international APM mall on the popular Huaihai shopping street.
Later on the company will open a second shop in Hong Kong will open in the Elements Mall, situated directly above the Kowloon MTR Station.
In total 15 to 24 new shops will be opened in key market areas in Northern Europe, North America and Asia/Pacific.
Sales in the Asia/Pacific region are very strong and the enormous Chinese market has room for new and attractive Nordic design brands, states Marimekko’s President and CEO, Mika Ihamuotila.
