German VDMA opens representative office in Brazil
To make the representation offices in BRIC states complete, German VDMA has opened recently a representative office in Sâo Paulo (BR)
The Brazilian market has been very promising for German Engineering companies. The market absorbs over 25 % of German engineering and machines, thus after the USA, Germany is the most important supplier of transmission and drive technology as well as foodstuff and packaging machines.
The new VDMA representation will be headed by Thomas Junqeira Ayres Ulbrich with jointly Brazilian and German roots, meaning that his mother is from Salvador, Bahia , but Ulbrich grew up in Germany and studied law in Bonn but his internship took place in Rio de Janeiro. He served as lawyer for the VDMA law department between 1989 –2000 and afterwards he was working for some European machinery and plant engineering companies. Now he will represent the German trade in Brazil and give them support when needed.
