Thies is presenting its products for the first time at Techtextil 2013

For the first time ever, German Thies is presenting its textile machinery at Techtextil 2013 (June 11 -13) in Frankfurt (D)

Thies will highlight its latest range of machines for the processing and treatment of Technical Textiles, on its stand number H75 in Hall 3.

The range is used to produce a wide variety of yarn, fibres, nonwovens and fabrics for technical applications, such as Aramide used in security wear and top-end as well as in bullet proof automobiles.

THS085A-pic2The products to be shown are the Thies eco bloc yarn dyeing machines to produce yarns and fibres for medical cotton applications, and with a guaranteed even dye distribution and targeted colour fastness at cost and environmental efficiency.  These eco bloc yarn machines can be used also to process sewing threads for all other Technical Textile applications, including sun screens, tent materials or sunshades. Also the Thies HT – Jigger is used for dyeing fabrics, nonwovens or space fabrics and at process temperatures up to 143° C. The Jigger is recommended for the treatment of crease sensitive, permeable and non-permeable fabrics, and it offers an optimum flexibility for finishing of all modern fibres. It offers step-less tension and material speed control with an economical dye through and it is designed to offer uniform dyeing in short liquor ratios. Key applications are in the automotive sector, for example for the treatment of filter materials and vehicle interiors.

Another Thies product is the recently introduced iMaster H2O dyeing machine where water consumption is an important issue. The machine offers energy savings in steam, electricity and chemicals and dyestuffs applied. Significant savings in water consumption are achieved with reduced liquor ratios as low as 1.35 or less.

The system features a transport winch inside the kier, allowing  cotton, synthetic fibres and their blends (including articles with high Elastane content) to be processed with significantly reduced elongation. The resulting fabrics show improved stability whilst offering flexibility to process a wide range of products. This type of machinery has already made an in-road with several automotive fabric producers.

Further, Thies will present its third generation of soft-TRD machines, setting new standards in the efficient use of materials and resources. It is designed for universal dyeing of woven fabrics, knits and nonwovens and is able to handle crease and surface sensitive articles at production speeds of up to 600 m/min. The free material flow and low intensive transport zones allow an optimum relaxation and uniform treatment of the entire rope. The new design with swimming material transport increases the finisher’s flexibility in processing a wider range of fabrics and material weights.
