Precise UV Colour Communication is AATCC calibrated

AATCC, the American Association of Textile Colourists and Chemists, has calibrated Ultraviolet (UV) Reference Fabric to ensure accurate colour communication along the textile supply chain, a solution that is time and money saving in respect to expensive miscommunication

It is a given fact that not all reference fabrics are created equal. The association’s optically brightened reference fabric has been calibrated to a national standardising lab and this optically brightened fabric is designed to give more accurate measurements than the non-textile UV calibration plaques usually supply with a spectrometer.

The UV Calibration Reference Fabric provides a target CIE-Whiteness value being used to accurately adjust spectrophotometers for measuring optically brightened textiles, no matter which method an instrument uses to calibrate UV content. When the UV content is properly calibrated for textiles, users will see more consistent results from one spectrophotometer to another.

In addition, the spectral data from optically brightened textiles can be exchanged more accurately within the supply chain and digitally based quality assessments will be more precise and easier to accomplish.
