3033_BLB_LB_X_6H&M Hennes& Mauritz clothier capsule men’s collection for Brick Lane Bikes is full of the spirit o modern urban cycling and is designed by H&M and tested by Brick Lane Bikes. The collection of 11 pieces is made entirely from more sustainable materials and forms part of H&M Conscious work, the collection will be available in around 2890 stores and on-line from March 7, 2013

Petter Klusell, designer at H&M describes the collaboration result: H&M for Brick Lane Bikes brings together the fashion, function and heritage of cycling. Each piece has been designed so it can be worn on or off the bike, inspired by the vibrant colours and specialist knowledge which make Brick Lane Bikes so unique. It’s great that they have tested every single piece around the streets of London, so we know that the collection really works.

Layering is the key to a cyclist’s wardrobe and the collection has all the pieces needed to complete the look. The rider jacket is made from water repellent and breathable material, with ventilation holes under the sleeves and taped seams. It is cut longer at the back, with a back pocket and straps inside the jacket so it can be worn as a backpack. Shirts come quilted for colder days and in plaid checks with reinforced patches on the lower sleeves. The crewneck top has a zip and ventilation holes, as well as sleeves cut for extra mobility, while the rider T-shirt has a functional pocket on the back. For a true vintage cycling look, there are colour stripe Henleys in either cotton or Merino wool, both cut longer at the back. Rider’s trousers are similar to a functional chino. Legs are cut for slightly bended knees, a reinforced crotch and reflective tape seams on the inside leg which are visible when rolled up for extra safety. There is also a pair of rider’s shorts for when the weather turns warm and a striped cap. Materials used in the collection include organic cotton, recycled polyester and wool, making the collection sustainable.
