New trouser label partners with Atelier Gardeur
German trouser specialist GARDEUR and designer Thomas Rath (47) are teaming up to launch “Thomas Rath Trousers” a new premium trouser brand for women
Initial prototypes has been presented to a select audience on November 14, 2012 and the collection will be officially has its premiere at Berlin (D) Fashion Week from January 15 – 20, 2013.
The new partnership should prove a long term alliance. Besides bringing Rath’s name to the collection it will focus on his characteristic signature design style, high quality and meticulous finishing and a perfect fit. All of this will be fully integrated in the trouser atelier of GARDEUR. GARDEUR will be responsible for purchasing, processing, engineering, production, quality assurance, sales, sales are management and communication. The new collection will be a premium brand and the line entails exquisite fabrics and finish, as well as carefully selected quality details to underline the wearer’s discerning lifestyle. It is divided into three segments, Business, Hot Fashion and Sporty and comprises some 92 garments with a total of around 130 options and with a retail price between EUR 159 to EUR 279.
Thomas Rath, born in Cologne (D) worked for international luxury labels before creating his own line in 2010. He is a self-thought designer and with its line he blends nostalgic extravagance with sportiness and displays his own characteristic style. In the television show “Germany’s Next Top Model” he was sitting in the jury, he is a UNESCO ambassador and committed to a development project “Future by education” in Burkina Faso training young seamstresses.
