German scientific textile research adds to the industry’s cutting edge
The number of textile research projects accomplished by German scientific textile research in 2011 is impressing: 150 successful projects were completed
The German research work serves as an impulse for high-tech materials and is leading in Europe. All of these projects were mainly supported by the industrial co-research funds (Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung IGF) of the German Ministry of Economics or from other federal sources or from states. On all projects is thrown a light in Textilforschung 2011 (Report 58) published by Forschungskuratorium Textil e.V., the umbrella organisation of German Textile Research Institutes and it is their major aim to transfer research results to the practical world. To guarantee this approach to reality there are project accompanying executive groups to initiate a dialogue between scientists and foremost SME Small to medium enterprises.
